The Steel Valley Ride is a 31-mile mountain bike event which starts and finishes at Trek Sheffield, located in the Fox Valley shopping development in the centre of Stocksbridge (on the outskirts of Sheffield).
The organisers of the event are the Steel Valley Project, a countryside management charity. Funds raised from the event will go to the charity, with a proportion of your entry fee going to the BMC Mend our Mountains Cut Gate project.
The route is 31 miles of technical mountain biking in open countryside and moorland. It will satisfy your thirst for adventure and leave you feeling stoked on the technical descents.
The whole route will be clearly signed, with marshals on course and a well stocked feed station mid-way to replenish the energy you’ll have burned climbing up the hills!
There are plenty of cafes, supermarkets, pubs and restaurants near the event HQ, plus bike washing facilities at Trek Sheffield.
Ample car parking will be available on site and transport links to the event HQ are good: just 10 minutes drive from the M1 and rail links to Penistone, 4.5 miles from the event HQ.
